About
Based in Albion, Michigan, the Woodlands Library Cooperative serves 51 public libraries across thirteen counties in Southern Lower Michigan.
Woodlands is governed by a nine-member appointed Governing Board, whose members are appointed by our member libraries. Woodlands facilitates the provision of databases and resource sharing, coordinates and provides continuing education and training for library workers and library trustees, technology support, advocacy, programming, consulting, and more. We do not directly serve the public, but work with our member libraries to bring services to the nearly 826,000 Michigan residents along the cuff of Michigan’s mitten.
Woodlands strives to develop sustainable and innovative programs and services. Libraries thrive when they collaborate in shared and scaled activities. Cooperation at all levels allows for growth in library programs. It helps sustain efforts that improve the quality of library service in every community we serve.
