About

Based in Albion, Michigan, the Woodlands Library Cooperative serves 51 public libraries across thirteen counties in Southern Lower Michigan.

Established by the State Aid to Public Libraries Act (Act 89 of 1977), Woodlands is governed by a nine-member appointed Governing Board, whose members are appointed by our member libraries.

Guided by our Plan of Service, Woodlands helps facilitate the provision of digital services, continuing education and development for library workers and library trustees, tech support, advocacy, consulting, and more. We indirectly serve the public by enabling our member libraries to bring new and innovative services, resources, and tools to the nearly 826,000 Michigan residents along the cuff of Michigan’s mitten.
